My name is Ashley Duncan, I have spent my entire life raising and caring for exotics.
Our mission- Why do we raise and care for these exotics? I have a deep respect and love for all my animals, and I want to share that with other people. I have over a decade of experience with most of each species and I am very confident that I can help you make the right choice for your next pet. Our website has one goal- to educate! We do NOT breed every species listed on here, we keep many of them as pets only and we simply want to share our experiences and care info with everyone.
Our number one priority is the well-being of our animals. You will not find any "click here to buy" buttons for any of our animals. We want to ensure that you are able to meet the needs of your new pet and only after we authorize an adoption does this take place.
We do have several species listed on our site, but we do not breed each species, nor do we sell all the babies that are born. We only breed about 30-50% of all our animals at any given time, some of which are never bred. We also do not sell any of our "retired" breeders, they have forever homes here. We only sell adults in other circumstances.
I was interviewed for "Critter Magazine" in 2008 for my knowledge and opinion about flying squirrels and short tailed opossums as pets .
In 2011 my coatimundi Severis and I were featured on the front cover of the Texas State University newspaper. A story was written, and film documented, about our home and all the animals we care for.
I will be featured on Animal Planet, "Pets 101" with my kinkajou Dobby to teach people what is like to own a kinkajou. Pets 101 series airs Fall 2011.
Some of our offspring reside in national zoos, countless educational programs, school classrooms and on Animal Planet. Our clientele consisits of celebrities, vets and I work with several local and international zoos and breeding programs.
Our facility and home is licensed by the US Department of Agriculture to breed and care for our animals. We also hold appropriate permits and licenses through Texas Parks and Wildlife.
