We picked up "Elsa" whose name is now Fiona this past Monday. She did really well on the 5 hour trip back to McAllen. She seems to be having a little trouble adjusting to her new environment. I'm not to worried about that, as we will continue to work with her and handle/bond with her. She's sleeping a lot. But her cage temperature is between 77-80 degrees all the time. I did place a heating pad on low under a portion of her cage. I have seen her drink, pee and poop; I just haven't seen her eat at all yet. How long is it safe to let her go without knowing for sure if she has eaten anything?

Elsa now Fiona still isn't eating?
Hi Angie - I'm so glad to hear Fiona made the long trip well. Sometimes it does take them a couple weeks to acclimate and at first they may be a little shy about eating and do it while you are sleeping. Poop is a good sign because it does mean she is eating something. All in all she sounds like she is doing great!
Thanks Ashley! She is still a little shy and does ball up on me at first. Since I sent you this message Fiona has eaten during play time!! So I have seen her eat, drink, pee and poop with my own eyes. She has started to come to me during playtime and love to be cuddled in her bonding pouch! She seems to be settling in well and that makes my heart happy.
